About West Park Hospital's Patient Financial Services Department

With multiple benefits statements, multiple bills from hospitals and physicians, and many different payers (including patients, Medicare, Medicaid and insurance companies), paying for health care can be a confusing and seemingly endless maze.

West Park Hospital’s Patient Financial Services department works to navigate what is often a tangled web of the different parties involved. We are also here to help you by answering your questions, billing Medicare or your insurance, updating you on the process and helping you understand the process.

We are committed to working with you to resolve your bill in a fair manner, and we have many options to offer.

The easiest way for us to do that is by working directly with you. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have a question about your bill, your insurance or your payment options.

Payment Discounts

West Park Hospital offers several discounts for patients who pay their account in full within a certain amount of time from the date when they received services.

  1. Accounts paid in full at time of service or within five days of service will receive a 15 percent discount.
  2. Payment in full within 30 days of date of service will receive at 10 percent discount.
  3. Payment in full within 15 days after insurance pays will receive a 10 percent discount on the remaining balance.
  4. Payment in full within 90 days of service with one-third of the total amount paid within the first 30 days after service will not be charged interest.

If there is a difference between your final bill and the estimated amount, the applicable discount will be extended for an additional 30 days on the difference.

Discounts do not apply to insurance co-pays or deductibles.

Payment Options

West Park Hospital accepts most major credit cards and will bill your insurance and/or Medicaid and Medicare for you.

If you cannot pay your bill within 90 days, WPH has arranged financing on patient accounts through Wells Fargo Bank in Cody for amounts ranging from $500 to $40,000 at rates of 3 percent over prime, adjusted quarterly, for up to 15 years. We also encourage you to contact your financial institution, as it may be able to offer better terms.

If you do not qualify for Wells Fargo or other financing, please contact our Patient Financial Services department. We are happy to work with you to keep an account from being sent to collection, but accounts must be kept current.

Price Quotes

As prices for services are changed periodically, it is the policy of West Park Hospital that all patient requests for price quotations should be forwarded to the Patient Financial Services manager.

The manager will then gather as much information as possible to give an accurate quote. The Patient Financial manager will also inform patient of other possible costs regarding services and/or procedures.

It is possible to not be able to provide quotes for some procedures or inpatient stays as there are many variables involved.

Financial Assistance

Financial assistance is available for all services except Long Term Care and Cedar Mountain Center inpatient services. To be eligible for financial assistance, your household income must be at or below the federal poverty income guidelines and you must have exhausted all other means of assistance.

If you think you could be eligible for financial assistance, please contact WPH Patient Financial Services within six months of receiving service. The staff will inform you of the requirements that must be met prior to your application for assistance.

You must apply to Medicaid to be considered for financial assistance.
