| Planetree Health Resource Center |
Consumers are bombarded with health information these days, from drug ads on TV to websites to various trendy diets and self-help guides. Each new study seems to contradict the last one. Where can Big Horn Basin residents go for medical information they can trust?
West Park Hospital and the Park County Library System formed a unique partnership in 2005 to create a Planetree Health Resource Center inside the Cody Library.
The Health Resource Center is a separate section of the library that houses current, reliable sources of information about health and wellness, including books, pamphlets, journals, DVDs, models and trusted Internet sources. By taking advantage of this special section, library users will be able to better understand medical conditions and treatment options and learn more about nutrition, stress and raising healthy children, among a variety of other health and wellness topics.
The Planetree Health Resource Center is located in the Cody library at 1500 Heart Mountain St. and open during regular library hours:
- Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m.-8 p.m.
- Friday 9 a.m.–5:30 p.m.
- Saturday, 9–5 pm
- Sunday, 1–4 pm
For more information, call 527-1880, or click here to browse topics or search the Planetree Health Resource Center catalog. |

Testing is confidential and can provide you an important tool for wellness assessment and early detection of some disease. You order the test; you receive the results.
For accurate results, this type of health screening requires fasting
(nothing by mouth except for water) for eight to 12 hours beforehand
(Diabetics should not fast for more than eight hours
