Employment Status Description
Employees will be hired to work in a particular employment status which will be defined as follows:
FT - Full Time: A position whereby an employee is scheduled for at least 72 hours per pay period, but not more than 80 hours per pay period.
PT - Part Time: A position whereby an employee is scheduled for at least 40 hours per pay period, but less than 72 hours per pay period.
CR - Casual Relief: A position whereby an employee is regularly scheduled for 1 to 39 hours per pay period.
PD - Per Diem: A position whereby an employee is scheduled on an "as needed basis" by the mutual agreement of the employee and West Park Hospital. The wage rate for each per diem position will be predetermined by West Park Hospital District and applied uniformly across that position classification. Per Diem employees are required to work two (2) scheduled shifts per month to
maintain their employment status with West Park Hospital (providing shifts have been offered based on departmental needs.) The Hospital reserves the right to terminate those employees failing to meet this requirement.
Temporary: Employee who is hired to a position for a limited length of time.
The needs of the facility may necessitate employees to be temporarily assigned to other areas for which they are qualified. In an emergency situation, employees may be assigned to any area of the facility to provide any service which can be safely performed by the individual.

Post Offer Drug Screen
Applicants who have been offered a position at West Park Hospital District must submit to a post-offer drug test. The employment offer is contingent upon the results of the test. The job offer to an applicant with a positive test may be revoked if a legitimate explanation is not found. If the presence of prescription medications is found, the prospective employee will be asked to provide proof of a valid script from a clinician.
