Health Check

In addition to operating a full-service laboratory with on-site testing in clinical chemistry, therapeutic drug monitoring, hematology, coagulation, immunology, and bacteriology, West Park Hospital Laboratory now offer self-directed testing. These pre-paid, self-referred tests can screen for anemia, cancer, diabetes and cardiac risk.

You can request these health-screening tests without a doctor’s order through West Park Health Check. This service offers high-quality, affordable health screening. Testing is confidential and can provide you an important tool for wellness assessment and early detection of some disease. You order the test; you receive the results.

Use the list below to determine which tests you need, print and fill out the Consent and Liability forms and drop in between 7-10 a.m. It's that simple.

For accurate results, this type of health screening requires fasting
(nothing by mouth except for water) for eight to 12 hours beforehand

(Diabetics should not fast for more than eight hours
and all participants should continue taking medications as prescribed)

There are so many reasons to regularly check the status of your health:

When you are feeling well: "Normal" test results will establish a baseline for future monitoring of your health and will give you general information about your current health status.

Staying healthy: Testing may expose risk factors that could affect your health. This information can help you and your doctor target needed lifestyle changes.

Early detection: Some changes in your health only become apparent over time. Health screenings can help you identify potential risks early, before symptoms begin.

Family history: If you have concerns because of family health history, screenings can help detect your risk for developing conditions that run in your family.

Quality interaction with your physician: When you have test results in hand, you can optimize the valuable time you spend with your physician. Having questions ready will allow for a more in-depth discussion of your specific health care concerns.

Peace of mind: If you have made the effort to improve your health by altering your lifestyle, you can now more easily monitor your progress.
